Dog Installation Video

Last week I traveled to Grand Rapids to install my 2012 ArtPrize entry “Running Dogs.” It took more than four hours to install the 100 dogs the DeVos Convention Center but this video speeds it up to under a minute.  The competition begins next week which means voting will, too.  I’m pledging $10,000 to ASPCA if I win so here’s hoping to a winning entry so more rescue dogs and animals can find homes.
In additional news, the online magazine Press Unleashed interviewed me about “Running Dogs” and ArtPrize. You can read the article here.  You can also keep up with me and my dog Grubby on Facebook and Twitter as the competition gets underway. Just a few more days!

ArtPrize...25 days away!

My dog Grubby is really excited about the upcoming ArtPrize competition.  He’s taken over my Facebook fan page and even started a Twitter account. (You can follow him @GrubbytheDog). He’s really excited because my piece “Running Dogs” which is in ArtPrize this year was inspired by him and the different dogs I’ve had in my life.  Also if it wins, we’ll be donating $10,000 to the ASPCA to help dogs like him.
Here’s a little info about ArtPrize:
1.       It’s in Grand Rapids, MI from Sept. 19th to October 7th.
2.       It’s the world’s largest art competition with 1517 artists in 162 venues.
3.       To vote, attendees must register and then vote for their favorite artist.
4.       Top prize is $200,000 and determined solely by popular vote.
If you happen to be in the area, please stop in at the DeVos Convention Center to see “Running Dogs” and vote.  Grubby put together a little promotional piece you can watch here.
